I wish HB would change up her style a li'l bit once in a blue moon. She tends to write a familiar formula : sparse dialogues (when I say sparse, I mean : short sentences + a disconnect emotionally), a catty ex-mis w/ claws (but I give her credit that heroine gets the upper hand. Yay !), too-detailed mundane activities like eating, bathing, shopping etc. Not much meat to chew on. Why the 4* ? The hero, Loukas. He's not the typical @$$ that U usually see in HPlandia. Alesha got burned by her 1st marriage, she's pretty sliced up physically & mentally after the domestic abuse. He has to tread v. carefully around her, sensing somethin's not right 'cuz she's v. skittish whenever he tries to poke her tightly-sealed holes. He agrees initially to her terms : separate beds. She's a career-oriented chick & drives a BMW. He's a gazillionaire who drives an Aston Martin & lives in a mansion. Yeah U know U're immersed in a jet set when Chanel wedding gowns & brand name flashy cars are shamelessly paraded. Did I mention that the heroine wears a satin thong ? Wooooof ! Of course she gets turned on by his tight buns during soapy bath. He finally scores & she learns that xhex can be enjoyable after all. Then the icing on the cake, he gets even w/ the slimebag on his wife's behalf, by ruining heroine's ex. Well, I broke my temporary, self-imposed rule of 'no Greek heroes' 'cuz I luv unholy merger thanx to expired pimp daddy. The hero saves the day.

Very cheesy and passionate love story about a marriage of convenience. Heroine had been married before and she was mentally and physically abused. It was great how hero's love healed her and it was great how hero ruined her ex bastard husband. He was a strong and sexy alpha hero! Epilogue with their twins was super cute!!

==>Re-read December 9, 2016 (add 2 star)==>Read October 13, 2012 (paperback)-----------------Marriage of convenience + heroine abused + hero coveted by another woman + ex lover bitch + describes parties and clothes of the rich in detail.------------------It follows the formula already known by the author but there is something more to this story. I did a reading Marathon this week and in all books heroin accepted all harassment and threats that the other woman does to heroin without reacting in any way. She simply stood there inert and without reacting. But our heroine reacts and I must say I was amazed!"She sought the right nerve and the model’s legs buckled, sending her sliding to the floor."And our hero is spectacular! He gradually will knowing the heroine and the secrets she keeps and at every turn he is kind, gentle and caring. And he is not indifferent to the suffering of the heroin, he acts and makes her enemies his enemies and take revenge.‘You crept beneath my skin, affected me as no other woman did, or ever will, and you invaded my heart, my soul. Until you became the very air I breathe. You. Only you.’

After being abused mentally, physically, and sexually by her first husband who was only after her family money, Alesha Karsouli vowed never to marry and allow another man to get to her. However, when her father's will is read, she learns if she wants to keep the family business, she must marry Loukas Andreou. Together they will co- own and operate the business. Loukas is a man her father liked and trusted, thus, her father is ensuring there isn't a repeat of her first marriage.Alesha vows this will be only a paper marriage that she will never again lose her independence to a man. As their first couple of nights as man and wife come and pass, Loukas cannot help but notice the way Alesha shields herself away from him. Flinching at every move he makes and even witnesses her having a nightmare of being back with her first husband.Barely being able to contain the furry he feels towards the man who would lay a hand on Alesha, he makes it his personal mission to help her overcome her fears. Slowly, he tries new things with her and eventually she blossoms into a bedroom butterfly. I loved the fact that he didn't push her. He was a true gentleman about it.Together they fly out to see his family, where they put together another wedding for them. While on their honeymoon, Loukas is called to work urgently. Later that day, Alesha is called informing her Loukas has been shot.Faced with the fear of losing Loukas, Alesha finally admits to herself that Loukas has gotten to her and she loves him. At his side at once, she doesn't hesitate to tell him the words she had been with holding. "I love you."Now happily together, they return home where Alesha confirms what she thought she knew.9 months later, they welcome twins into their family.

DominadoresLeilão Do AmorHelen BianchinH.

3,5 - 4,0 Everything happens very fast and there isn't much dialogue between the H/h, but there are plenty of searing looks and fleeting touches that makes those two fall in love with each other. LOL. Classic Helen Bianchin, perfect for when you're in the mood for a sweet and quick read.

This had been an interesting read. The characters attitude were refreshing and it had been a long time since I’ve read an HB books that I had fun reading this. The story had a good flow with the H, Loukas being patient and helping the h to get over her trauma. Her first marriage was a disaster where her husband was abusive and I respect her for her success at her job. What I didn’t like in the story was the small amount of communication between the couple but I guess the book is more like actions speak louder that words. There was a long lines of descriptive words that made me felt bored and made me skimmed some parts. I would recommend it to all who are looking for something relaxing to read in a slow paced. I did like the book a lot as it was different from all the books I had read recently.

The second M&B I am reading simultaneously, with an appropriate title, where the H/h are on an equal footing. Also, it deals with the issues of abuse/marital rape sensitively with great understanding on H's part. Loved the h's spunkiness, especially the incident with the H's ex! Also loved the teasing b/w them

Having escaped an abusive marriage, Alesha is content to live in her own private world and work at the top of her father's company. When he dies, she learns that he's arranged her marriage to honorable and trustworthy guy, Loukas - and she either follows through with it or loses the company she's dedicated her life to. But Alesha has learned that men simply cannot be trusted and surely Loukas is in that number. But he shows patience and determination in bringing her around to his point of view, that they can have a trusting, passionate and even loving marriage. I'm kind of torn with this one. I loved Loukas, although initially I wasn't digging his arrogance and total lack of acknowledgement that the heroine even had any valid feelings about the marriage. But he turned out to be an incredibly patient hero. Only disappointment was that, after learning he (view spoiler)[ wasn't in love with her until the end(hide spoiler)] I began to wonder what gave him that level of patience...it seems like a lot of work and effort to bring someone out of their shell (view spoiler)[ when you don't love them(hide spoiler)] and all you're seeking is a content, business-like marriage. For that matter, the issue of the marriage was very quickly dropped and became a non-issue before the halfway point of the book. And after that, there really wasn't much tension or angst to experience. A little bit of the heroine waffling about whether she loved him or not and the occasional moment where she realizes she's letting him get too close before she just forgets about it and lets him close again. I found myself tuning out and getting somewhat bored. Although I did notice that we were told every single time the heroine showered and changed her clothes (and the outfit was described...usually fine-cut trousers and a nice blouse, but occasionally jeans and a sweater...always underwear and a bra though). Loukas pretty much earned the stars here. He was a change of pace in the HP world.

One of the better ones. The heroine survives an abusive first marriage, only to be forced into a marriage of convenience with the hero. It starts off a bit contentious between the couple, and obviously the heroine has issues due to her experience. I liked it because when the hero found out, he was very gentle and considerate of the heroine. He genuinely set out to earn her trust. I also liked the fact that eventually they built a good, friendly relationship even before they admitted to each other that they had fallen in love. We get the POV of the hero, so we know that at first his feelings were rage and protectiveness towards the heroine, but she slowly crept into his heart. It also has a very heartwarming epilogue.

Oh My..... :)I would've given it 5 stars but I think the author may have gone a little overboard with her detailed description of things. There was a fair amount of internal dialogue, (which can be really annoying), in this case it allowed the reader to see where the H/h were in the relationship. I fell in love with Loukis' character BECAUSE I knew what his thoughts and intentions were. I liked the plot, and the characters, it was a love story where the H wasn't too arrogant or damaged to give the h some much needed TLC !!

I might finish it later, but not now. I got a little irritated with the hero running roughshod over what she wanted. Heaven forbid he hear the word no. Also, again, with the multiple parties, societal diaries, and all that nonsense. While some might want to know the ins and outs of the rich and snobby and famous, I'm not one of them and I think I need to steer clear of this author because of that.

Loved this book....except the end seemed to drag on a bit. Almost like it could have ended around the 80% mark, remaining 20% seemed to be filled with words for the sake of it. Given the past of the heroine, the hero was sweet and caring towards her.

The attitude of Loukas is a tough pill to swallow for much of the first part of this story , but I think Alesha handles him very well in the end . This Crazy Train of an arranged marriage was a joy to read and I was done reading within a day and a half . (192 pages.)

This book was good, but seemed to drag towards the end. At the beginning I kept waiting for the her to show her business acumen but instead she just sort of let him take total control. I liked her backstory and reasons behind not getting with him right away and it was a sweet story in the end.

Even though the storyline is similar to most of Ms Bianchin's writings, I really enjoyed this one in particular. A quick and easy read for a couple of hours of mindless escape and relaxation.

All the ingredients for my fav light read (Greek islands, hot, rich man to save the day, etc). Unfortunately, this book was too sappy and dull at the same time for me.
