Chasing Her Tail Reviews
Reviewed after re read!Again another fun enjoyable read by Katie Allen!Bridget is bitten by a small puppy that seems to have made its way into her classroom. It is only later on in the day when she starts to feel ill, she realises it may not have been what she thought!Micah, the uncle of one of her students, knows more than he has let on, and they have both been trying to deny the attraction they feel to each other.Bridget runs when she realises there is someone after her, and in dog form, decides she needs an "owner" until she can work out what is going on. She finds her owner in Hammer (the friend who helped Harry and Ky in One-Two Punch and those characters make an appearance here) but things really heat up once Micah catches up to her.Again, an enjoyable, light humorous read with a great set of characters. Some of my favourite scenes are those between Hammer and Bridget the dog, when he thinks she is just a dog.
**2.5 StarsSoooo....this was definitely different....a paranormal menage but with were-dogs...just different. Reminded me of Sam from True Blood. There were parts I liked and then some that were just a little weird. The scenes with all 3 of them together were hot. Hammer was definitely the dominate one in the bedroom. I think Bridget accepted becoming a were-dog just a little too easily. She started out being sort of meek and cutesy (she was a first grade teacher) then became this sex kitten or something. I don't know...I just didn't like her as much. I also felt Micah's personality changed. At first, I thought he would be domineering and OTT. But then when he met Hammer it all changed. He became submissive not just in the bedroom. I didn't like that. I also didn't get the HEA I wanted. I got a HFN with no ILY's or anything. Just a relationship...I needed a little more for the ending.Sam, Micah's nephew, was a cutie pie! I just wanted to squeeze him. It was good to get a little peak of Beth, Ky, and Harry from One-Two PunchSo, it was just ok. I definitely would have liked to know what happened to Night....
OK, so I was freakishly excited about this book. I fell upon Mrs. Allen's books by mistake really but fell in love with Seeing Blind and just couldn't stop myself from buying and devouring the others. I was very sad when I had read them all and there were no more. But then I Chasing Her Tail in line at the Ellora's Cave "Coming Soon" link and couldn't wait. This book was like her others and yet not. It was like them in the fact that it was an amazing story that held me until the end where I was disappointed that it was over and just wanted it to keep going. It is unlike her others because it feels as if it were written differently. There was a smoothness to the story that make the pages fly by until you had no idea that you were almost done with the story. Not to say that her others lack that smoothness! The characters were great and I found myself falling in love with Hammer and Bridget as a dog and the play between the two of them. The sex scenes were amazing and steamy and adding the adorable Micah to the mix only made it that much better.Another amazing read by Katie Allen and I can't wait for her other books to come out!
Plenty of great HOT scenes in here, but the whole Hammer being dominate not only towards Bridget, but also Micah turned me off. It was fine up until Micah started to submit to "Hammer" (hate that name btw). Up until then, Micah came across as this strong, alpha male, and then he's the underdog, answering to Hammer when he's getting it on with Bridget. -Hammer TELLS him how he can have sex with her...I found myself wanting Micah to say, "Screw off, I'll do what I want." LOL Ok, so maybe not that exactly ;) but just to be a little more alpha-male. The hotness factor makes up for this to a point, but still a let down for me. Overall, great hot read if you go in expecting to see Micah bow down. ;)
It has been a little while since I read this book but here is what I recall...I love this book!! Yummy romance involving shifters. Plenty of steamy action and a touch of humor!Definitely a book to get into! I started it and didn't stop until I reached the end! Yummy Menage action as well! MMF!
I was disappointed by this one. I've read books by this author before that I've enjoyed, but this one didn't do it for me. I guess I can't expect every book to be a hit.I think that Bridget was too accepting of what happened. The relationship between the three of them developed way too quickly, and I just didn't get drawn into the story the way that I hoped.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous story. Not as much as Katie's other stories in fact. While this book was good, and contained the the level of writing I require to enjoy a story, it just didn't mesh with what I was looking for in the series. The shifter element seemed to come out of no where after the last book.
A vacation read. This book pushed all my buttons in quite a delightful way. I really want to explore more of Allen's back-list, but the Ellora's Cave books are just so damn expensive.
