Blake was devastated when he returned from a morning jog to find his wife, Cait, missing. His young daughter told him that 3 mean-looking men took her. Blake immediately called in his team from Phantom Force Tactical, which he co-owned with his best friend, Colt. This was a wonderful story, filled with action and emotions. With Cait being the victim, the team made sure they would not fail in finding her. When they learned that a drug lord had kidnapped her for revenge, they knew it would be a particularly tough case. The kidnapper, also, did not expect to fail.I loved the storyline and characters in Fine Line. You could feel the tension of the team. Knowing they had a deadline to find Cait made their job harder. It is unusual in a story to have a wife kidnapped. I liked that twist. The team was wonderful. They were always on top of the investigation, and highly skilled, capable men. Cait was a strong woman who kept a cool head throughout the abduction. If you like emotional, action-packed books, you'll like this story.

I really enjoyed this book--part two in the series--and I am looking forward to book 3. If you are turned off by swearing, particularly a lot of F-bombs, don't read this. I usually don't like a lot of swearing (I have quit reading other books for that reason before) but this did not bother me, perhaps because the swearing seemed character-appropriate to me.

The characterization of the main character, Blake, was blaming himself before any fights took place. It wasn't overly long, but you were dripped fed a few bits at a time which was good. The plot was good - new owner of a business , former solider, father and husband until his wife is abducted by a criminal and this made you want to keep reading. Some faults are it gets a bit repetitive at times but makes it seem plausible. The introverted and memories can easily get tangled but is done to make them more human. Overall, pretty good and now it makes me want to go read the others in this series to see what happens to the others within the books.

Exciting enough Despite the plot and the well written shifting between the main characters view, some cliches are used in describing how tough the heroes are. Not a big deal, and not a good enough reason for not reading the book; more the only thing that I give four, and not five stars.I think I’m going to read more from the author, that’s for sure.

Another excellent novel from Jessica James. This installment of the Phantom Force Tactical series continues where the last one ended with fast paced action sequences, adrenaline-inducing chapters, and characters filled with guts and glory. The characters are realistic and heroic and the plot is superb. I look forward to the third installment. Happy reading!

Overall well written. The last 30 pages or so became unnecessarily far-fetched but the characters played out well.

The characters are intriguing and there's lots of action. I could feel the trust between the operatives and felt sorry for Colt who had lost the love of his life previously. I could also feel the trust Cait had in Blake, her husband.
