Destroy Me is book 2 in the Destroy Series and it’s Kate and Reed’s story. We had previously met them in Self Destruct, Book 1, which focused on Becca and Aiden. Becca and Kate are best friends, so yes, you will see the characters from Self Destruct in Destroy Me. While both books are standalone novels, I would recommend you read them in order.“For me love hurt, love tormented, and eventually love would kill me.”Where can I even begin? I’m a HUGE fan of #RomanticSuspense novels and let me tell you, KD Carrillo sure delivers!! She had me on the edge of my seat, fully engrossed in the storyline, in need of knowing what would happen next. The suspense and drama were amazing and the romance was HOT. FIVE STARS!“Some people are too broken to waste your time.”“You aren’t broken, Katie, just a little bruised. Either way I’ll be here waiting.”Reed is YUMMY. I absolutely loved his character!! He made me swoon too many times to count and I just loved how protective he was of Kate. He did whatever it took to keep her safe and make her truly happy. Gah! He definitely made my list of favorite book boyfriends!Kate was an amazing heroine!! She was strong, beautiful, and genuinely a nice girl. I love reading about characters like her. They allow me to connect with them easily! I felt for Kate and her situation. She was broken, but at the same time, she was far from being weak. She did what she needed to do in order to keep her loved ones safe. “Loving her could destroy me, but being loved by her was restoring my battered soul.”KD Carrillo developed the plot line amazingly well in Destroy Me. I felt like the story had smooth flow and it kept my interest fully intact. I did NOT want to stop reading!! Really, I didn’t. Had it not been for work, I probably would’ve read this book in one day. It was a true page turner for me. Another plus about this book was the chemistry between all the characters. Aiden, Becca, Jeremy, Cameron, and Toni were amazing as usual. I loved seeing how they all loved and protected each other. They were more than just friends, they were a family. Okay, seriously though, if you love Romantic Suspense novels, don’t think about it and buy this book! Read this series!! Can’t wait to see what KD Carrillo comes up with next! FIVE STARS!

While I wasn't a huge fan of the first book in this series, K.D. Carrillo makes up for it in spades when she gave me Officer Reed Martin. We met Reed in book one as a friend of Adien and who helped with that whole messy situation. Now it's Reed's turn for love and his girl isn't going to make it easy on him. This review may contain spoilers if you haven't read the first book.Reed is recovering from being shot by that crazy [email protected] Vanessa protecting Aiden and Becca. The only thing making his hospital stay bearable is his nurse, Kate. Reed knows a little about Kate as she is a good friend of Becca's, but not a whole lot. Being a police officer, Reed is observant and realizes Kate has something from the past haunting her, so he's only admired her from afar. Fighting demons of his own, Reed doesn't push Kate, just some friendly flirting here and there. Kate is has been on the run for three years. Along with her twin brother Cameron, they hoped to finally settle down, however that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. While she's friends with Becca and Toni, nobody but her brother really knows what is going on with Kate and her past. She sees the handsome Reed and what a nice guy he is, however can't let him be drawn into the hell that is her life.Reed is a patient man I'll give him that. Pining over a girl for a year has got to say something about the way he feels for her. Only if Kate could see what he sees with lines like this:Loving Kate snuck up on me slowly, but once I fell I never wanted to get back up, not even when I was sure she would never love me back."Swoon, big time for me. I just love the alpha that is tough as nails on the outside, but is a giant teddy bear on the inside. This type of alpha claiming his woman is all kinds of hot. At one point I wished I could shove Kate out of the way and take her place since she wasn't appreciating what what was right in front of her. However, once Kate's entire story was out, you see why she kept Reed at an arms length and I cut her some slack. So off we go on the Reed and Kate adventure. Once again K.D. Carrillo does a great job balancing the romance and action in her story. One minute they are loving on each other and the next somebody is getting shot, again. The book reads fast as you can't wait to see how it is all going to play out. Reed and Kate are both struggling with the past as the past is actually trying to take them down again. Another Reed line that got me:"....sometimes no matter how hard you try to cover something up or wash it away it still leaves a mark." Ahhhh you sexy beast Reed Martin. Destroy Me is a great addition to the Destroy series and I would sure like to see Jeremy and Cameron's story up next. Reviewed for Renee Entress's Blog.

I totally enjoyed this story , as book 2 in the series it can be read as a stand-alone but you will want to read book 1 first so you know all the characters and can start the journey with them. First off I love being with the gang again. Aiden and becca have come so far it is crazy. I love the dynamic between Toni , Jeremy and Cameron. Finding out Late and Cam's BIG SECRET was crazy and it really made for a crazy storyline and when past/present collide it was an on the edge of your seat read. I look forward to more and I am wondering what kind of story we may get next ??Reed is a great friend , wonderful guy and amazing at his job. He has some past issues and deals with a lot of guilt when it comes to people he feels he may have let down. Recovering from his last gunshot wound isn't fun BUT having nurse Kate there to flirt with makes it better. For the better part of the year he has been smitten with her and although she has escaped all attempts he may have finally broken her down !! Kate has her reasons for not getting close but this is REED , how can you resist. When Kate is faced with troubles of her past Reed steps up and between Reed and Aiden these poor girls may be a little overwhelmed with security. Jump on the rollercoaster and go for a ride. There is no lack of drama and suspense in this story. The who is who and why is crazy and the puzzle pieces do not fit together as I thought they would. There is violence and heartache but also a great love story blooming. Not to mention the HOTNESS of Reed and Kate !! Now I just have to say Toni , Jeremy and Cam would be a great thressome !! JUST SAYING... HINT HINT !!

Ink Angels Book Blog received a copy of Destroy Me in exchange for an honest review.Book two in Carrillo's Destroy Series picks up immediately where the first one left off, including the usual suspects, but with a new focus on Kate and Reed. Kate is a nurse in the hospital who cares for Reed and whom Reed grows to love. There are a lot of twists and turns in their path to happiness. I loved how the book bounced around, bringing back the main characters from the first book and allowing you to see where they are in life, while following the stories of their friends. This novel is full of new drama, and plenty of it. An emphasis on the raw, passionate sex scenes, that at times left me putting the book down to take an ice cold shower. It follows a similar pattern as the first, leading the reader to anticipate the villain, only to twist your reasoning and leave you speechless. As a series goes, this is by far one of the best I have ever read. I am actually very excited to read the third book, which I am to assume follows Antionia, Miguel, and Trent. I must warn that you should read the series in it's entirety (not really standalone) as the books feed into one another. Self Destruct was just the appetizer leading to Destroy Me, an exquisite main dish. I am sure the third will end up being the perfect dessert. I love how K.D. is hitting subjects that no other author dares to hit. Be them controversial and sometimes very disturbing, she hits every raw nerve you may feel about it.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian- I Dig Good Books. This is book 2 in the Destroy series, And while it would help to have read book 1, I didn't feel it was necessary. It just helps you understand what Reed went through, better. Kate is one of Becca's best friends, and is harbouring a secret she thought she, and her twin Cameron, had escaped from. It all comes crashing down when that secret catches up with Kate and Kate needs help, but can she trust Reed, a detective? Or will she and Cam have to run, again?Different to book 1, as Kate and Reed are different people, so the tome of the book is different but equally as good. You get both Redd and Kate, again, in the first person, but again, good book/ negated dislike.Kate's secret doesn't come out in full until she tells it, but you get hints as to what it might be in how she reacts to people, Reed especially. When it all comes together, and the true person behind her terror is revealed, I got that, very early on, some others might not.We also have the on/off relationship between Cam and Jeremy, and I hope they get a book soon, they need to sort themselves out. I understand Cam more now, since some of Kate's secret directly involves him. ALSO we have Toni and her life and what she is doing. She needs a HEA too, so, tell, KD, how many more books in this series, cos I see two at least! As good as, but not better than, book 1, so 4 solid stars.

This was another hard one. So while I think the same things applied in the first book, i.e. insane amounts of 'i love you' and very annoying behavior by college aged adults, this was a better book.I think the authors writing has improved from book one to book two. I felt there was less repeating, although it did still happen. But it flowed much better. The plot in book two was a bit more complex which I liked, and again I read this book in twenty four hours. So while on the surface I would say this book isn't for me, apparently there was something there to make me keep reading it.Ultimately I think I am going to avoid "New Age' category books because I think that's my real issue. When I think back to how I was in college it pairs up with these characters so I don't think it is that the author isn't on point.Because I think K.D. is.I think I just don't like young twenty something year olds who think they know everything and can rule the world. All in all I'd say this is a 3.5 star book. And if I was asked to read the next ones in this series I would because for reasons I can't understand, these characters draw me in.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is the second in the Destroy Series. Kate appears in the first book of Becca and Aiden's story. Kate is one of Becca's best friends and was supportive in the events that almost destroyed them. Reed, a police officer, was a neighbor who came to the rescue and helped Aiden to protect Becca. Reed was in the hospital after being shot in the attempt to protect Becca. Kate happened to be one of his nurses and he became interested in her. Kate has a past that she doesn't share with anyone but her twin brother Cam. There was tragedy in her past and she doesn't let anyone in. Reed was in the military and suffers from PTSD. There are things in his past he would like to forget. Can they break down each other's walls and get together or will their pasts get in the way? I recommend you read about Kate and Reed. I like the support each of the offer and they think nothing of coming to anyone of their's friends rescue. This book will hold your attention. Must read!

Love it!MY THOUGHTS~ I was provided with an ARC/Review Copy for review. I liked the first book in the Destroy Series, Self Destruct, but this one was amazing! I loved every minute of it! I had a little trouble getting into the first book, but this one? No way! It was awesome from the beginning! The characters were much more developed in this one and we got to see more of all the characters from Self Destruct, plus get a lot more in depth with Reed & Kate. We also got to know quite a bit more about Jeremy and Cameron. Everyone had a part in this book and it was fantastic! It was suspenseful and exciting and kept me guessing all the way through! I can't wait to see who gets the next book! Toni or Jeremy & Cameron?? Can't wait! I will definitely be getting that bad boy as soon as it's written!

I was given a copy of Destroy me in exchange for an honest review."you are every love song I've ever heard"In book one self destruct at the end we get the idea that there might be something going on with Reed and Kate. Now going into Destroy me this time I mentally prepared myself for oh my god moments. But it doesn't matter how much you prepare for this your still shock specially when the book pulls at my heart string - the thing I'm most sensitive about."I love you when you're smiling and when you're sad. I love you all dressed up and when you wake up with grass in you hair. I'm here and I'll be by your side wherever we end up"Destroy me is about Kate and Reed. Its is told out of both characters point of views. Reed well survived his country, almost died twice saving a friends and got shot twice. After a year of eyeing Kate he tries to give it a shot but with Kate thing are just not that easy. Kate has a past a secret. Something that scared her and she cant truly trust her heart or anyone."it was more that a kiss' it was a promise from my soul to hers"Now a serious of event tells us what truly happen to Kate and Cameron and while we route for Kate and Reed you find yourself also wanting to go kit Cameron's ass and tell him just to open up to Jer. Now Tori there is a true mystery and hope if Miss Charms write a book 3 is the destroy series we find out about Tori and her story."That's the thing about fear though, it can sneak up on you, kick you when you are already going down, and paralyze you emotionally."Destroy me has on major twist where you are what but I thought, what. let me read this again moment. The plot is genius and if you love suspense you will love this book. I do have to say SPOILER ALERT when Belly gets shot I was crying like a baby (my weak point is animals and I don't like seeing them get hurt, I am proud of me for reading through it - it took a lot of me to do it)"all those years you thought you were running away from your past, but you were running to me."Destroy me show you that if it is true love no amount of skeletons in your closet can scare of you partner. This book is full of hope and love and will have you routing for them to come up on topI give Destroy Me 4.5 Kicking stars

This book was just as great as the first in the series. Not many series have follow ups as good as the first. I was just as interested in this book as I was in book 1. Destroy Me focuses on Kate and Reed. We learn more about their secrets and struggles to find love and closure. Reed is a wonderful character who is strong and full of depth. The way this book was written you could feel the fear that Kate goes through. I love when a book pulls me in so much emotionally it's like I'm there with them.Kate and Reed are running from their pasts. Kate and her twin brother keep themselves apart of the group while still remaining separate. Kate's holding on a by a thin thread that is about to rip her and her friends apart. Reed has been in love with for months and has been trying to pursue her. Although he has his own demons he continues to try to help Kate. Reed would do anything for his friends and fits right in. He took bullets, hid them, and even helped them face their own demons. During all of this you find that Kate and Reed's pasts are intertwined. It was not something I saw coming :-) It was a great plot twist that I'm not giving away. Both main characters are strong and react to things in a way you would expect from one who has been through what they have had to endure. There were times I was frustrated but I understood why. Kate and Reed both deserve the love and happily ever after with each other. This story has sweet love, strong friendships and a wonderful sense of family. This book has romance, suspense and lots of plot twists. It was well written and thought out again by K.D. Carrillo. I look forward to reading more in the series.

This suspenseful book had me on edge many times. I had trouble putting it down once I got started. I got to know a little about Kate in Self-Destruct (the first in the series) but I really got to know her in this book. Kate is hiding something that only her twin, Cameron, understands. Even though Kate is an amazingly strong character, she feels she can't fight her past and wants to run away from it to keep everyone safe. Eventually the secrets were revealed and Reed and Kate's other's friends are there to support and save her. Reed was absolutely perfect. He is patient when he needs to be and pushes just enough when he has to. There were so many times he showed just how amazing he is. Everything about this story was just wonderful. I loved watching Kate finally allow Reed in and allow their relationship to grow and develop. The suspense keep me on the edge of my seat with a tight grip on my Kindle many times. I enjoyed this book a little more than Self-Destruct because I was more caught up in the storyline. This book is written in dual POV. It can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend read Self-Destruct first, mainly because it is an equally good book and it's always best to read books with common characters in order. With each book, the characters become more developed. After reading this one, I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

If you believe in True love, ever lasting love, suspense that leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat, and a mystery to solve, this is a book for you.KD Carrillo has done it again. destroy Me is book 2 in the Destroy series and it is filled with all of the above, this book is gutsy and fall of twists and turns , at one point you think that Kate and Reed won't end up with each other and then things start to fall in place for them. Fear plays a big part of this book but it's not only Kate's fear but Reeds as well. Together they help each other through their fears and nightmares, they are both broken but they know together they have the strength to fight anything.I loved this book I couldn't put it down, I was sitting on the edge of seat, trying to to help them solve the mysteries. I felt the fears both Kate and Reed had, you will feel the anger they felt but most of all I loved how all their friend rallied around to help support they through every dark moment they had. These friend were true family to kate and Reed and not once-abandoned them or turned them away.I gave this book 5 stars, I loved book 1 Self Distruct and now book 2 Destroy me, KD Carrilo just get better with each book. I look forward to seeing her future work and can't see what she will come up with next.

This is book two in the Destroy Series. I gave this book 5 stars. This is Kate and Reeds story. This can be read as a stand alone. KD has done it again. I have to say that she has done it better then the first one.. The characters in this story just seemed to flow a little bit better then they did in the first story. You can see the growth from the author and her writing. I loved getting to know Kate and Reed and the things that they had to go through. This is a wonderful series that you don't want to miss. Kate is a very strong heroine and Reed is just yummy!!! I can't wait to read book three. Thank you KD for a wonderful story that kept me wanting more right up to the end. It was full of romance and suspense. You do get to meet these two in book one so i recommend that you read book one, but as stated it is a stand alone book. This is a phenomenal series!!!

I did love the first book so much but this one was my absolute favorite. I loved watching the story progress the journey so to speak. Reed is a man anyone would fall in love with. Kate was just this sweet gorgeous woman who hid things very well. I got very swept away in this story especially when I looked at my clock and it read 3:00 am yes it is that kinda book where you can't stop reading. You are consumed by the story and refuse to stop. This story wasn't insta love like the first book but was just as beautiful watching them fall. This author is brilliant with her ways to capture your mind. Now if only I can get my hands on this third book. Also the characters are so amazing they have created a family out of all there chaotic lives. You will simply love this series. This book follows the lives of Kate and Reed. I really love how we get some inside into Becca and Aiden as we read through the twists and turns of this book. This story is told from both Kate and Reed’s POV. Kate is a nurse. She has had something happen to her in the past and it closes her off to love as she’s afraid to trust someone. She is running from her past. Reed is a cop and is suffering from a gunshot wound. His nurse Kate is friends with Becca. He can tell something is off with her. He is falling for her. This book is full of romance and action. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next throughout the book. I look forward to the next book in the series. This book was really interesting to read. This is the second book in the Destroy Me series. I enjoyed reading this series it was very different compared to what I normally read. The characters and story was impressive. There is a lot going on in this book. There's drama and more drama which made the book interesting. And of course there's the sex which was hot.Destroy Me takes place right after the first one. Kate is taking care of Reed while he is in the hospital. That's when all the excitement starts and how well they care for each other.*** review provided by obsessed by books ***

DNF....doesn't feel planned out, so there's a lack of continuity...Also there's no build up to anything. Also I don't really love any of the characters, so i feel like I'm wasting my time with this one. Maybe if i forget why I'm annoyed, I'll give it another go, but for now, DNF at 60%
