I have to be in a certain mood to read paranormal and when I saw the cover of this book, I was instantly in the mood. Have you seen it? It’s gorgeous.I haven’t read the first book of the series so going in, I wasn’t sure what to expect and I didn’t know what/who lightbearers are. I jumped into the story because of the catchy blurb and the pretty cover. Let me tell you this, when I accidentally erased the book from my Kindle and couldn’t get it again because I had no internet access (don’t ask), I almost had a meltdown. When I finally got another copy, I didn’t stop reading until the last page. It was great!Finn is a strong (and hawt!) shifter who is assigned to take care of the sassy, snarky and headstrong Cecilia. Sparks literally fly when these two are together and the (sexual) tension between them? Oh my! After several incidents, it’s clear someone is after Cecilia. Finn does his best to keep her safe but it’s not always easy, especially when feelings get in the way. Feelings neither of them are ready to accept. The story was intricate, interesting, entertaining, even funny at times… it kept me glued to my Kindle and never lost me. If you want a magical, sexy and fast-paced story, this is the book for you. This book can be read as a standalone, but there are things I probably would have understood sooner (better?) had I read the first book, well, first. My bad. This was my first Tami Lund book, but it will certainly not be my last. Now excuse me, I need to go find the first book…

I was given this book for my honest review with Books Are My Escape.Book 2 in the Lightbearer series doesn't let the reader down one bit. This book focuses on Finnegan and Cecilia, he is a shifter, she is a Lightbearer, they have no love for each other either, at least that is what they keep telling themselves. When Tanner moves to where the Lightbearers are living, it is natural for Finn to follow him to support his Alpha. He wasn't excepting to be put on babysitting duty with Cecilia, since she likes to sneak out and could be harmed by other bad shifters trying to take Lightbearers powers.Cecilia just wants Finn to leave her alone, he is cramping her style with the males, and she is not too happy about that. Then someone starts trying to kill her and Finn is determined to find out who it is and protect her at all costs. Will they be able to overcome the dislike they have for each other so he can save her life, or will she still just run off and break his heart being injured? You have to read this book to get those answers! You won't be sorry you did.I hope that there are more in this series, Tami Lund does a fantastic job with building worlds and characters.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Tami Lund does so many things well but she is fantastic at creating romantic tension and there's a lot of it. I really enjoyed Dawning of Light. Finn is a sexy leading man with a softer side and Cecilia is feisty and spirited. Great characters, some magic and an engaging plot made this a fun read. Looking forward to finding out what happens next!

Tami has done it once again. A wonderful story filled with enough suspense and chemistry. I loved Cecelia. She reminded me of a good friend of mine. The chemistry between her and Finn is exciting and electrifying. Absolutely loved this book. Five stars.

OMG I love this series! It has a different spin on shifters and we were introduced to a new magic population (a sort of spin off of the fae) the Lightbearers. Ms Lund's shifters can turn into any creature they choose. There is one incident on the lake where Cecilia is in danger of drowning and Finn turns into a dolphin to get her safely to the shore It is so cool! Of course they're hot; hunky men and the women are beautiful. They and the Lightbearers are supposed to be mortal enemies (much of this was explained in depth in the first book) but Finn and Cecilia are the second set of mixed marriages/matings. This book is their story and OMG, what a story. It's difficult to give a brief synopsis because it has so many nuances that I don't think I can do it justice but briefly...Since they first met Cecilia and Finn have had an electric attraction between them. Magic sparks every time they touch but Finn thinks he is irritated by Cecilia and her actions (he can't be attracted, he's happy as a single guy). She is always slipping out of the hidden world the Lightbearers have always lived in (called the Coterie) and tends to find trouble outside in the world. Finn has been assigned to watch out for her and prevent her from leaving. She leads him a merry chase and he has to save her multiple times until he figures out that someone is actually trying to kill her. The attempts on her life are varied and the situations spellbinding - I just couldn't put it down. As each attempt on her life gets worse Finn becomes more and more possesive. It is full of action packed adventures and lots of situations where the two are tempted to either fall into bed together or possibly kill each other. In addition to all the angst between the main characters there are plots against the King, the pack master (Tanner) & his mate the princess (Olivia). It becomes clear that there is an anti-shifter faction trying to kill Cecilia and anybody who is friendly to the shifters. There comes a point at which Finn feels the need to get away and think as he is confused by his feelings for Cecilia and is determined that he doesn't want a mate & yet he's starting to take on a subtle glow which he knows is indicative of his emotional feelings for her. He leaves and goes to see his family in Tennessee. When Cecilia discovers he is gone she panics (although she refuses to admit why she feels this way) and decides she has to follow him to make sure he will come back. She shows up with a body guard (Dane) and meets Finn's family. When there is an incident where Samuel (a Lightbearer who insists he wants to mate Cecilia and has been pursuing her relentlessly) shows up in Tennessee and that sets off an anti-Lightbearer situation. Finn decides it isn't safe for Cecilia to return with just Dane so he says goodbye to his family and returns to the Coterie with Cecilia and Dane. The story really takes off after they return. These are just a few brief highlights, this story is so well written the author actually has several storylines going on all at the same time and they all work seamlessly together. There is a villain (the chosen one)wait till you find out who he is as well as a happy ending but the journey there is a wonderful read. I promise you will enjoy this book. I sincerely hope there is a book three in the not too distant future (I'm feeling withdrawal...). This book is a stand alone book.

A TREASURE TROVE OF MAGICAL GOODNESS! Title: Dawning of LightSeries: LightbearerAuthor: Tami LundDesignation: Book Two, Can Be Read as Standalone. No Cliffhanger, Paranormal RomanceReading Platform: Kindle UnlimitedMy Rating: Five Captivating Stars*****Wowza! I am so in love with this series. Tami Lund has brilliantly continued the magical journey in Dawning of Light, the second book in the Lightbearer Series. Lund demonstrates amazing talent and an astounding imagination in this novel. The story is original, imaginative, perceptive, well written, romantic, sexy, thrilling and action packed. The dialog is exciting, smart, sassy and flows beautifully. The characters are well developed, fascinating and intriguing. The story captures your imagination while enveloping you in a web of magic and fantasy. The characters jump off the page and capture your heart. Such an interesting and totally different take on a paranormal/shifter/magical beings story! I was totally captivated! It certainly would help to read Into the Light, Book One of the Lightbearer Series but not mandatory in order to enjoy this story. Lund does a superb job of referencing parts of her back story from Book One. In this book, handsome shifter, Finnegan "Finn" Hinnigan. has killed the heinous Quentin Lyons and has pledged his allegiance to his son, Tanner, and has now become a member of Tanner's new somewhat small ragtag pack now living in the Coterie. Finn is undecided and unsure of the dangerous and uneasy alliance with the Lightbearers. After all, Shifters and Lightbearers are mortal enemies and have been for all time. So when his alpha, Tanner, tasks him with guarding beautiful Lightbearer, Cecila "Cici" Druthers, he is beyond upset. "Cecilia duty" for the rebellious, stubborn and troublesome Cecilia is the very last thing he wants to do. After all, he has already saved her life twice. He simply can't stand to be around her and he certainly doesn't like her. Or does he? What? Why does she affect him so? What in the heck is wrong with him? They are mortal enemies! So when it seems that the Lightbearers have a traitor in their midst and someone is trying to kill Cecilia, Finn is determined to protect her even if it means protecting her from her own family. What? It's just his job! What else could it be? Sparks fly! Opposites attract! The planets align and love blooms! Oh my! And what beautiful sparks they are! And Finn soon learns that he can't fight fate! So exciting! So compelling! So romantic! So dreamy! So good! Sigh.........I can hardly wait for book three of the series.

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for a review.Dawning of Light picks up immediately where Into the Light left off, following two of the most vivid supporting characters, Finn and Cecilia ("Cici"), as they have an adventure of their own. Sparks fly from the first page and these kept me reading late into the night. Fast-paced and funny, Tami Lund delivers a follow-up that's anything but second best! Dawning of Light adds to and even improves on Into the Light, giving us more time with the characters we've grown to know and love and providing a nice assurance that Olivia and Tanner are doing well (I love to check up on old characters!). Tami's characters (supporting and otherwise!) are a definite highlight to both of these books, and the witty banter is top-notch and grounded in reality. I actually liked Finn more than Tanner (not a criticism, just personal preference!) and it was great to read him in a book of his own. His story starts in Into the Light, however, so if you, like me, are a fan of Finn ("Finnatic?"), you'll want to start with Into the Light. This and Into the Light were actually the first romances I read about shifters, and I was thoroughly impressed that Tami Lund manages to write a world that was so imaginative while keeping it so believable. It helps that the world feels so familiar -- contemporary America, and the upper Midwest, no less! I really enjoyed the descriptions of winter in Michigan because that felt particularly familiar to me (being from Minnesota) and Tami's gorgeous descriptions brought it to life. The setting is also really underused, so it was nice to read something that felt so fresh. Dawning of Light is fast-paced and fun, and the Lightbearer series has been a great introduction to the world of shifters. Looking forward to #3!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. In this book we get CiCi and Finn's Story. This book can be read as a stand alone but does need to be read after Into the Light to avoid learning any secrets from the first book. If you have not read the first book there may be some spoilers in this review. With everyone now at the coterie and Quentin dead Finn is not sure what to do with himself. He has always been a part of a pack but he is not sure he is quite ready to join this pack of sorts. Tanner is steal adjusting to his role of pack master to not only the few shifters he has with him but also to the lightbearers. Finn is now his second after helping to deal with everything from their previous pack. Tanner is now afraid that there are still some from the Quentin's pack that still will hold to the ideals of killing the lightbearers so he needs Finn's help to train them. He also worries for his mate's cousin because she likes to get into trouble. Cici hates to be ruled by anyone and doesn't like being followed around by Finn so they fight constantly. However there seems to be something more to this fighting under the surface of it all. There is also a new threat in the coterie. Everyone must band together to ensure the safety of them all. This is another amazing book in this series. This book will grab you from the first word and not let go till the very end. I would recommend it and think it should go on everyone's must read list.

You are going to love Finn & Cecilia's story! It's the second Lightbearer book, and it's quite possibly better than the first. Finn is a shifter, defected from Tanner's old pack back in Wyoming. Not only defected, he actually killed the old pack master, then swore his allegiance to Tanner, who was now pack master over a motley group of shifters and lightbearers who all lived inside the magical wards of the lightbearers' coterie.Unfortunately, the danger isn't necessarily outside the wards.Finn's job is to protect Cecilia, cousin to the princess of the lightbearers. Problem is, Cecilia doesn't want to be protected. She doesn't think she's really in danger, not even when the danger hits her square in the face. She's too busy trying to ignore the attraction she feels for Finn; an attraction that strikes her as odd, considering she can hardly stand the guy. Needless to say, this attraction made for some fun - and steamy - scenes. Scenes I thoroughly enjoyed writing.Join me on the journey, as Finn and Cecilia discover that opposites really can attract, and that sometimes, it's okay to let someone else watch out for you, once in a while. This is the second in a series that, to date, has no specific end in sight. So sit back, download, and get ready to enjoy. Trust me, the story will go on.

I was provided a copy of this story in return for an honest review.I really enjoyed the second installment of the Lightbearer series. While you don't need to read this series in chronological order, it increase the enjoyment of both the story and the characters having the prior knowledge. I truly enjoyed Cici. She wasn't ready to settle down and didn't care who knew it. She enjoyed her freedom and was more than willing to have fun. But with Finn she is different. She finds herself fighting him at every turn. And Finn is not better. He is struggling within his new "pack" and his attraction to Cici is not helping. Ms. Lund did a wonderful job of showing the push/pull between Finn and Cici. Both were fighting their attraction to each other even as the struggle to accept the changes brought about by the mating of Cici's cousin to Finn's pack master. I loved that Ms. Lund did not make it easy. The attraction and chemistry between Finn and Cici felt real even if neither seemed to be aware of it. I loved that Ms. Lund allowed Finn and Cici their moment even as she move the story arc along. I thought this story was well written and enjoyable.

What a wonderful addition to this series. Book 1 was fabulous, but I loved the build up of this book. It appears to be the classic opposites attract scenario until they come to find, as the chemistry continues to build, that they are not so different from one another after all. I admit, I am a sucker for a good build up. I believe the sweet tension and anticipation of great chemistry, that compounds before that first kiss or roll in the hay, can be just as exquisite as the actual coupling. In this book, we find two very passionate characters who in spite of their almost instant physical attraction, continue to believe the other could not feel anything more than lust. Even though this is a paranormal romance, the theme is universal. In real life, couples rarely express their true feelings for each other in the beginning, both too scared to risk a broken heart to come clean, or too insecure to believe the other could feel as strongly as they do. This is a great read and has enough magical chemistry to make the HEA well worth the wait. Come for the great paranormal aspects-stay for the romance. Well done.

This is the second book in the Lightbearer series, which is based upon a wonderful take on magic and shifters. The story is another magical twist on the star crossed lovers theme, and it does not disappoint. Our hero this time out is Finn - a guy who is none too happy to have to babysit a fiesty Lightbearer. Particularly one who gets so under his skin, in the way Cecilia does. They are meant to be mortal enemies after all! These two really spark off one another and fight their attraction every chance they get. But can they keep it up - or will fate, love and desire win out?Finn is a seriously sexy alpha male, I adored him! And I admired Cecilia's strength of character. They made a great coupleThis is exceptionally well written, which is no surprise as the first book is also brilliantly executed. The pacing is fantastic, and it literally grips you from start to finish. Can't recommend this one enough!

This story has a totally different twist on most shifter books. I love how the main characters seem to come to life and how this story reaches out and grabs you. Cecilia won my heart even more in this story and Finn is not so much like a knight in shining armor although he has his moments. When he and Cecilia finally come together they find they are made for each other and not sure what to make of it or if they truly want it. Tempers fly even more with these two. Cecilia kept me laughing, along with a few tears. I had a blast reading this story and quite a few giggles. There were also a few times I wanted to reach in and strangle a few of the characters. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for something different from the norm to read.I was given this book for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this second installment of Tami Lund's Lightbearer series in exchange for a review. All I can say is, unlike movies where the second installment is a disappointment more often than not, Dawning of Light is every bit as engrossing as the first novel. The story of the tumultuous interactions, complete with sharp-tongued repartee, of characters introduced in the first book is intermixed with the deadly dangers of racial discord, family lies coming back to haunt, and denying one's true feelings.Just as in the first book, the pace is fast, the action intense and the passion hot and heavy. And under it all, is the undeniable depth of feeling that we all read such books for.Tami Lund has provided another wonderful tale that grabs you from first word to last.

The second book was just as good as the first book. Book two picked up where book one end it was jam packed with action, sexual tension, chemistry, family drama, also with obsess brothers who they thought was dead but found out that he faked his death and the families lies coming back to haunt them. I love the interaction between Finn and Cecilia (aka Cici) their verbal sparring was hilarious. It also showed us two people denying their true feelings to one another scared to admit how they truly feel. It was also nice to see old faces Tanner and Olivia Dane and Lisa. I'm really hoping there's more to this series.

*I was given an ARC for an honest review.*I was so excited to finally get the sequel to Into the Light. I loved the love/hate relationship of Cecilia and Finn. Watching their gradual development kept me turning those pages! Their banter was constant entertainment. I even found myself laughing out loud.It was great seeing some of the same characters from the previous book again. And Ms. Lund did an amazing job of drawing you back into that world. She’s done it again with great dialogue, chemistry, and sexual tension! I *may* have liked this book even better than the first in the series, which was a fantastic book!I can’t wait to see what else Ms. Lund has in store!

Loved this story as much if not more than Book 1. This picks up where the last left off and focuses on Finn and Cecilia. You have an alpha shifter and a headstrong lightbearer and this match makes for a funny, hold your breath (cause what's she going to do next) story. I like how the author grows the relationships in her books, this it's not quick but takes it's time and lets you get to know the characters. Again, you have a strong presence from the supporting cast which I love. This story includes a bit of a mystery which was fun to read. Again, I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal books. I can't wait to see who's story comes next!!!

Tami Lund knows how to write a good book. I started reading Dawning of Light and only looked up from the book when I finished the last page. Finn is on hell of a sexy shifter whose job is to protect the lightbearer Cecilia. Only she really loves to give him hell. These two characters together were dynamite, let alone the story when you added in those that wanted to destroy them. I love the world the author has created for this series. I envision it so clearly whilst I'm swept up in the story. Her characters are strong and dimensional and it feels like I know them personally. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance. You wont be disappointed.

okay I'm completely hooked on this series. I literally couldn't put this down. I enjoyed the banter between Finn and Cecilia. They have plenty of chemistry. Someone has it out for Cecilia and Finn is going to make sure to eliminate the threat which means spending a lot of time with Cecilia. Tensions are flaring in the village with the shifters now living in lightbearer land. Some are none to happy with it. The twists that come this one. I highly recommend it.

Another great storyline in this series! Absolutely love Finn and Cecilia! Their love hate relationship was perfect. Sparks fly between these two in book one so I was thrilled to see them as the center of this book. Finn becomes her protector/babysitter to keep her from getting into trouble. But it ends up being more than that when strange accidents keep happening. Looking forward to the next installment.

I was gifted an ARC for an honest review. This is the 2nd book in the Lightbearer Series. I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with the world Ms. Lund wrote about in the 1st book and was thrilled I could read the 2nd one right behind it. She writes strong leading ladies and the men who love them so well. I really appreciate the new paranormal world she has created. Looking forward to additional books in this series.

The first book was wonderful and this one to me was even better. Finn and Cecilia are such a pair. As with book one, this book was well written and the characters were great. Normally when I book has this many characters, I find it hard to keep up but with this series, Each one added to this story so much. I hope that this series has a book dedicated to Dane and Lisa. Can't wait too read more

I am a super fan of Tami Lund. It is my opinion that she could not write a bad story if she tried. Action, fantasy and romance all in one? Yes please. Add in a few snarky characters, some seriously hot sex and a ridiculously well sculpted world, and this is a book I will read over and over.
