Just when I think that a series couldn’t get any better, Tiffinie Helmer proves me wrong. Death Cache is a mystery/suspense masterpiece from her Romance on the Edge Series. As with the rest of the books from this series, Death Cache reads as a standalone.Anyone who has read one of Ms. Tiffinie Helmer’s books knows, she enjoys writing about her beloved state of Alaska and Death Cache is no exception. It’s a captivating, gritty mystery set in the frozen tundra of the arctic. Once again, her descriptions are so detailed and so rich leaving the reader with the feeling they have actually visited Alaska. If you have travel experience in Alaska--or interest in it--this book will be particularly appealing. She paints just enough history, flora, fauna, and culture to captive your interest but not bore you to tears. The imagery in this book is phenomenal. The author brings you to a world that most people never see in their lives, well except on television.Tiffinie Helmer also presents readers with an engaging and complex mystery that is not easy to unravel, which I deeply appreciate. She gives true voices to characters, both old and new, as the plot progressed, there were many delightful twists and turns. But be warned …in mysteries, characters die, and in good mysteries, sometimes they are characters the reader cares about... The writing makes these characters spring to life and become so tangible, the readers will feel like they have just lost a friend. There was also a nice balance of humor, had a few laugh out loud moments as I was trying to unravel who was hunting and killing this magnificent cast of characters. Humor and danger are always a winning mixture.Death Cache is a fast-moving, exhilarating read with a superb lead couple and a twisting sizzling adventure punctuated with memorable characters. I love a romantic suspense novel with a high level of intensity and Death Cache delivers on all levels!

This is the thrilling next installment of the Romance on the Edge Series! Death Cache takes to to the very brink and keeps you on the edge for 5 wild days.Tern Maiski has a taste for adventure and a competitive streak to match the wide open Alaska wilderness. Accepting the extreme geocache invitation Tern was looking forward to enjoy a few days away from civilization competing against not only herself but her fellow competitors and the biggest one Alaska herself. Walking into the hanger to begin the adventure with her best friend Nadia the one thing she never expected was who her fellow competitors were, four of them to be exact all four former lovers. And with that Tern has two choices turn around and leave or go forward with the competition. Seriously how bad could it be after all she loved them all at one time or another she could do this and that would be that. Just one hitch while she may have loved them all she still longed for them in one way or another and Gage Fallon who left without a word well Tern was going to have the last word with him even if it finished breaking her heart. With no idea where they are being flown to. They are dropped at a remote idyllic lake and as they start to settle in they have no idea this game has one more competitor one who intends to win . One who has already set the game in motion with a few added surprises. This one intends to win with the death of them all.

This book is my favorite of Tiffinie Helmer's so far! It has that signature sexy romance, but this is so much more! It pits man (and woman) against the wild Alaskan wilderness, and against each other. Once people start dying, you're just glued to each page trying desperately to figure out who did it. And even when the suspect list narrows, it's not in the LEAST predictable. This is a story that you will have on your bookshelves to read again and again. I know I will!

Tiffinie Helmer and her Romance on the Edge Series have been thrilling us for some time now. Each book in the series is more intense with characters that not only become real to the reader; they are human with flaws just like us. Death Cache steps it up a notch.Left at a remote site near the Arctic Circle six people are in a game for their lives. Tern Maiski, her best friend and four of her ex lovers are all left in the Alaskan wilderness thinking they are there to play a game of geo-cache finding. The winner will be proclaimed the best in the state. However, someone either within the group or on the outside looking in has other plans. What follows is an intense game to save their lives and time is running out. They must play the game or die. As their numbers drop, who you can trust becomes the biggest issue of all.The one man Tern truly loved, Gage Fallon is there but he clearly isn’t the man she thought he was. He has many secrets and emotional issues of his own. The sexual tension between the two of them is palpable but is it enough? That isn’t what made this story unforgettable for me.What made this story unforgettable for me was the mystery. Who arranged for this game of death? Why? How could someone kill so easily without any mercy? This story will grip you and it won’t let you go until you know “who did it” and it will keep you guessing to the very end.Bravo Tiffinie Helmer!I received an arc copy of this book for an honest review.

Imagine being stuck in the middle of nowhere with every ex-boyfriend you've slept with in your life and one whiney best friend. Yeah, good times. Well that's exactly what Tern Maiski gets thrown into when she agrees to go on "the adventure of a lifetime". A high-tech sport of geocaching in the great Alaskan wilderness. Only, once the "participants" are dropped off in the middle of nowhere, things turn creepy real fast. Someone is hunting them. As they try to escape the wilds of their surroundings and make it back to civilization, danger is always around them. Tern is also trying to deal with the emotional rollercoaster of feelings from being thrown back in the presence of Gage Fallon. Her ex-boyfriend who walked away from her six months prior without a word as to why. This is by far my favorite book of this series. This author always seems to be able to pull you in and make you "feel" like you're right there in Alaska experiencing the elements of the last frontier. What a great read full of suspense and shock. And I learned one thing from this book... as much as I enjoy the outdoors and spending time in the elements of it; I'm WAY too much of a wuss to survive something like this!

Easily one of my favorite books this year! Of all her Romance on the Edge books this is the most riveting - adventure, murder, and sex. It's a little survivoresque but so much more interesting. Tern and her friend, Nadia, join four others for a geo caching competition. Little do they know it's far more than that and definitely not what you would suspect. The story lines are always on the "edge" but I love how she brings characters from the other books. Each book makes more sense if you read them in order however they could be standalone novels. She also has a bundle about the Men of Alaska with alpha male characters from each of the books. Read Death Cache then read Dreamweaver, it's the continuation of Lucky's story. Tiffinie Helmer always amazes me with her storytelling. I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Once again it seems I'm in the minority here when I tell you I didn't care for this book one bit. What's surprising is that I read the whole book especially since I wanted to throw in the towel a few times. A few words that come to mind to describe it - BRUTAL! BORING! TRANSPARENT! RIDICULOUS! The story was so long, I didn't think it would ever end. It's about a group of adults (more like whiny, bitchy teens) who one-by-one are being killed by a deranged killer while in the Alaskan wilderness. You have two women, the protagonist, Tern, and her best friend, Nadia. Joining them are four men who've all had sexual relationships with Tern (not all at the same time). Take a guess who the killer is. Go ahead, guess. It so obvious it doesn't take a genius to figure this one out. I didn't like any of the characters. I found them to be flat, under-developed, and shallow. I especially didn't like the H/h, Gage and Tern, and the never-ending soap opera they played out.""I don’t want to love you.""I have to stop loving you." "Loving you ruins me.""I’m losing control, and I refuse to let that happen.""I can't be obsessed with you.""Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Of course Gage only says this AFTER making out and/or having sex with Tern. It happened so often I wanted to yell at him to shit or get off the pot; and for her to stop being such a stupid twit. There's nothing special about them that makes them stand out. It doesn't help that I didn't feel any heat or chemistry between the two. By the way, Gage is such a boring hero. There's nothing about him that makes my tummy flutter or feel the need to cross my legs. And the ending, give me a fucking break! Hell, it's bad enough with the whole "Let's get married," but to throw in a little paranormal to the mix made the ending weaker than it already was. Sorry folks, but this one just didn't do it for me. How I wish I could get my money and time back on this one.

This was my introduction to Tiffanie Helmer and I must say that this book packed a lot of action, personalities, romance and even some sporty competiton all in a great read. The story revolves around six people who engage in a competition known as geocaching. While experts like Ms. Helmer may feel this is too simplistic a description, it feels like a treasure hunt using GPS. That was the impression I was getting early in this story, but it took a deadly turn as one by one the participants were getting killed. There was an eerie feeling among those in the group as the two womem, Tern and Nadia were best friends and each of the four men had a relationship with Tern in the past. Now they were dying off one by one? The writing was superb. The description of the rugged Alaska wilderness was excellent. Explanations about seraching for each geocache were helpful. The characters, both male and female, were all well developed. It should be noted that even though this was the fourth book of a series, it reads fine as a stand-alone. Even thought I had not read the previous three stories, I didn't feel lost or that I needed a lot of additional information to understand the characters, their personalities or what had taken place on thosee books. There is plenty of adventure and action as the players left not only fight for survival, but also fight through their personal demons and relationships with one another. There is romance as Tern and the man she still has the most feelings.for, Gage, become even closer...then apart...then close again. Their conflicts kept me guessing as well as as the mystery of who was the killer!Given all of this, Death Cache was an outstanding story that many people would enjoy, no matter what genre he or she prefers. I wish to thank Ms. Helmer for providing a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. She has gained a new fan and I will certainly be reading more of her work.

Tiffinie Helmer hit it out of the park with Death Cache. I really enjoyed the twists and turns this book took. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I laughed, got ticked off and had a few moments of teary-eyedness. Tern is an amazing female character that doesn't take crap from anyone so when she is sent on a trip with her best friend and four ex-boyfriends she only hesitates for a moment. Through out the book as things go from crazy, sexual and down-right scary, Tern keeps her head and tries to figure everything out before the people she cares about get killed. Gage is a sexy male character that has the wrong views of love and made a few mistakes he regrets and a few he doesn't. He is level headed and when things get rough he keeps a clear head, most of time. The book keeps you guessing and you entranced as you try to figure everything out before it ends.

Death Cache is a riveting and spine tingling thriller, with a wickedly twisted plot. Wow, from page one I was hooked. 6 people show up for an extreme Geochacing competition, and guess what? Turn, our heroine has slept with all of them, except her BFF, Nadia (whom Turn had encouraged to come along on her first Geocache.)Dropped off at a camp at the top of the world, hundreds of miles from civilization; Supplies missing from their packs, emotional tensions high. First they are hit with an accident, dark secrets are revealed, and then murder!Great characters, wonderful descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness, a plot that keeps you guessing every step of the way and a love story the heats up the frozen landscape. Wow! Death Cache was a thrilling ride.I highly recommend!

I LOVE romance but this most recent installment by Tiffinie Helmer is truly is a MUST READ! I love a story of a couple with a history together and this one certainly delivers on that premise. Set in her beloved Alaska, Tiffinie delivers yet again a story with strong heros and heroines who you can help but fall in love with. Never having been to Alaska the great descriptions of the landscapes and surroundings make you feel like you are there with the characters, hiking the same trails and feeling the cold right along with them. Dont miss this one!!

Very well written. The suspense was there all the way to the end. Definite twist at the end. The characters are well developed and believable. You are able to connect with them which for me is a key factor in liking a book. You definitely get a feel for Alaska in Ms. Helmer's book and this one was no exception. And you could definitely feel the chill in the air when the characters felt it. But that also could have been the fact that it was snowing outside when I was reading it.

Tiffinie Helmer is an artist when it comes to writing her stories set in the Cold Alaskan wilderness. As each book is written I see a little more each time, the added scenes written along the way . I have to say I enjoy this wonderful view within the pages of the Alaskan setting she so easily depicts. It certainly makes me want to pack my bags and visit this icy beauty she calls Alaska. = A place that she so easily puts forth for all the readers of her stories. Death Cache is filled with romance, and suspense, mystery thrown in and even a few curve balls along the way. This is book 4 in the series, but like all this authors’ book in this series, it can be read as a standalone but believe me your missing out if you haven’t read the rest.Tiffani paints a picture within hers stories, we see wonderfully detailed descriptions of all her characters, she gives them depth and definition and it’s so easy to be taken to another place whilst reading her stories. Death Cache is certainly one of my favourite of this author’s works; she gives us a few humdinger moments where you’re giggling, as well as a fantastic mix of suspense, danger and on the edge of your seat moments. ANd even hot smexy - grab that glass of icy water moments ;) I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters; it’s filled with sexy romance and wonderful characters that you will surely enjoy. We have survival of the fittest so to speak in this novel; the storyline is engaging as certainly unpredictable and will have you guessing the entire story.UNPREDICTABLE.The writing and storyline once again was well delivered. As said previously this authors descriptionS of the rugged Alaska wilderness was superb. AMAZEBALLS!!She filled us in with every detail we needed to know – aka Geocache. (Something I have never heard of before lol.) Tiffinie Helmer delivers once again a romance novel, filled with angst, heartache, survival and mystery and many plot twists to keep the reader hooked and baited. She has given us truly memorable characters, and incredibly dynamic sets of individuals to go with this killer story.

If ever you go to get on a plane and you have slept with all of the men on the flight, I have just one word for you . . . RUN. That's what happens to Tern, but she doesn't heed the little voice in the back of her head telling her this is a bad idea. The group has been hand picked for a geo-caching contest and they are dropped in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. First they find that all their survival equipment is gone (phones, matches, food, etc), then one of the contestants gets murdered. The rest of the group decides it might be a good idea to hike out to civilization. It soon becomes a race against time and a murderer. I really like Tiffinie Helmer's books, this is the first one I have listened to and it was very enjoyable. The narrator was good and Tiffinie's gift of making her characters seem real is excellent.

This book is a five star read! Romance with teeth, Tiffinie Helmer gives us a thrill ride between Gage Fallon and Tern Maiski that will end in romance or death. Invited to a geo-caching competition deep in the Alaskan bush, all the contestants are men Tern knows, and if they don’t kill her a mysterious murderer among them will.Fast-paced, heart stopping, and an unbelievable thrill ride with an unexpected bloody edge that kept me turning pages. This is a must read for romance lovers and suspense addicts alike.

Well I don't know where to go with this review. One this book just wasn't for me. That said, it is well written and the end of the series so I read it. Second you many love it. Here is what didn't work for me, I hate reality TV shows and I hate soap operas. I really didn't like any of the characters in this story. Keeping up with who was sleeping with who and when was a bit much. About 15 pages into the book I knew who done it. I really love Helmer books so don't let this review sway you. The first three books in this series just ROCKED.

Awesome!Awesome!Great read, suspenseful, and descriptions of Alaska really good. I've read all the ones in the series before this one and the novellas. Hope Tiffinie writes more like these...can't wait. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because I didn't like the use of the curse word "f_ _ k". The book would have been just as great without it.
