across the wide river yonvusdi Reviews
Across the Wide River by Tommie Lyn, is the third in this amazing series. I love them all but this particular book profoundly affected me.Due to my own childhood I found myself deeply affected by the treatment Susanne received from her stepfather, and Yonvusdi's treatment at the hands of his mother. However, not just these two characters: all the characters are so well written and real...I found myself on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Loving some...hating others, and saddened at the loss of my favourites. However, I love the new characters, especially young Alan. I look forward to following his journey in the next book...I sincerely hope there is a next book! The MacLachlainn Saga is awesome. I've always had the greatest respect for the American Indian. Whenever I watch a cowboy film, I always want the Indians to win. Reading this series of books has increased my admiration for them. The author has done so much research for this series. Knowing the books are based in truth, makes them even more powerful and deeply moving.Do I recommend Across the Wide River? You bet I do.
This is the third book in what has become one of my favorite series ever. I'm not much of a historical fiction fan, but this series is action packed and heart wrenching from start to finish. Yonvusdi is my favorite character, and in this book we follow his neglected and bullied childhood into a rough adulthood guided by bad decisions. The author has a knack for capturing me into a story world and not letting me go until I finish. I highly recommend this series, but be ready for the tears!
This is the third book in the MacLachlainn series and it does not disappoint. Yonvusdi's life, as well as, Tommie Lyn's virtuosity as a storyteller sucks you in on the first page and doesn't let go until the last word is read. The amount of heartache and hardship Yonvusdi suffers throughout his life is almost unbearable. Across the Wide River is a book that a great many people are going to admire, and that few people will be able to read without being moved.
