Jeremy the Preacher and Jane his second wife. I ended up really enjoying this one. It's hard to convince the reader that the second wife is as loved as the first, especially if she is the sister of the first wife! But in this instance I was totally happy with their love. I felt that both women were quite different, although he loved Rebecca, Jane was a better fit for him on a personal level. So the story starts with Jeremy after having just married Rebecca. It's just a few pages and then we find out that Rebecca and his marriage only lasted a few months before she dies of some illness. Jane misses her sister who was one of only a few people in town who appreciated her. She is quieter by nature and more thoughtful and observant than her flamboyant older sister had been. She is stuck living with her a-hole brother and his a-hole wife. More of a servant than a family member. But when he tries to sell her to a local creep, Jeremy steps in an marries her instead. It's awkward at first, as he is still grieving, but don't worry, the story moves along without getting mired in sadness.I loved how they learned about each other throughout the story. You could feel them falling in love with each other and understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses. Not that it was all smooth sailing. They go on a journey of discovery together after some news about Jeremy comes to light that further brings them together. There's really only one sex scene that was sweet and realistic and pretty sexy.

I don't really like the idea of sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law marrying after losing a spouse.. So I am on the fence about reading this one. I do want to finish up the series and catch up with characters from the earlier books.Yeah, it was kinda icky. But a nice way to have a HEA for the series.

Hero: Jeremy (Eliza's biological son)- Heroine: JaneReading Enjoyment:4.7* - I immensely enjoyed this tender story, with a honorable and somewhat grieving hero and a beautiful in heart but plain on the outside heroine with a selfish brother. A well written story with character building that was fantastic! I love the way she showed them falling in love slowly, foreshadowing a love that will last a lifetime. Towards the end of this story was like an epilogue to the 1st 2 books which I enjoyed!! This story has a very happy and satisfying HEA for all!!

This book, while it wasn't terrible, it really wasn't that great. For the most part it was pretty boring and predictable. I really think it could have been a better story had the heroine married the poor jilted stinky, fat, and ugly suitor, but alas she got the prince.

This is a heart warming story. I love the simplicity of the plot, characters and emotions you feel when reading this book.

The language was too modern for a novel based in the 1800s

It's a good read (for a romance) from an author I generally like (RAN). But... the main theme is something I personally don't like- two sisters, one guy (or other way around). Even though Rebecca passed away, and Jeremy 'rescued' Jane by marrying her, I still find it icky... can't see myself giving it more than 3 stars. The reason I busted down a star rating is - (view spoiler)[ I absolutely hate, hate, hate the deceased husband/wife control the living spouse's life via letters left for them... I do not find it romantic, just creepy! (hide spoiler)]

I always know when I pick up one of Ruth Ann's books that I am going to get a well written, fun, sweet romance with great memorable characters. And this book was no different!Ruth Ann is a very talented writer and all of her books make you think and hope and root for the main characters to get their happily ever after.I love the subtle messages in her books about love and second chances (sometimes even first chances), forgiveness, hope, faith and redemption. If you love historical romances then you really need to pick up one of Ms. Nordin's books, you won't be disappointed!

Marrying her widowed brother-in-law to escape being sold into a marriage has Jane stepping into her popular sisters shoes. It is more than difficult for this wallflower when no one can see her as anyone but "Rebecka's sister". The second chances are for more than Jane or even her new husband Jeremy but for Eliza as well. The 3rd book in the "Loving Eliza" series is heart warming and tender. Adult material.

This was my favourite book in the series. Jeremy & Janes story was short but sweet. I particularly liked how their relationship progressed from friendship to love. It felt real which made their story more special for me. One of the things I love about this series is how Ms Nordin made the stories come together in the end. Eliza deserved the happiness she found after what she went through. I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.

This book is so sweet my teeth hurt. I was a little icked out by the whole dead sisters husband thing, but it was done fairly well so that it didn't come across as too weird. It needs to be listed as Christian as well. I am thinking maybe it didn't get listed as such. because of the sex, its a bit more then most Christian books but I still would put in the Christian category.

This is a sweet and tender ending of the South Dakota series. The book shows the lives of the characters full circle. It gives us a glimpse of God's plan for their lives. Sometimes a person finds out why a difficulty arises in their lives and sometimes not; second chances.Ms Nordin always writes exceptional books and this one does not disappoint.

This story tugged on so many heartstrings...This is a beautiful story about finding love after tragedy, dealing with one's past, and finding your own niche in the world. As with all of Ruth Ann Nordin's books, many characters from previous stories appear, but they are actually part of the story and not added as an afterthought.

Good sweet slow romance. This story took awhile to get to the point but at least the people were not all of a sudden madly in love. Get to meet up with everyone from this series again. Great finish! She deserved a happy ending (Eliza)!
